About Me
I'm Chris Forte - a creative web developer with 5 years commercial experience developing robust, dynamic web applications from inception to delivery.
I have project management experience and my products are used by clients as diverse as Boeing and Airbus through to small photography freelancers.
My Web Development career first started at Ellipsis Media, a web design agency in London, during my placement year at Kingston University. I spent a year with them learning ASP, SQL Server, CSS and XML inside out and I worked with a number of clients closely as lead developer.
At Ellipsis I lead various projects including a high profile one for Wateraid during the build up to the London Marathon which allowed runners to build their own Wateraid branded London Marathon sponsorship web page to give updates on their training etc and to collect sponsorship online from their friends and families. I also worked on developing their own Content Management System (dotEditor) which gave me a great insight and experience in dynamic web development.
Once I graduated in 2007 I worked as the lead IT associate for the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC)
I designed and developed a web application for them in ASP which was like a business focused facebook for small to medium size aerospace companies to market themselves to the industry via a fully updateable company skills and capability profile. This was then hooked up to a search frontend which allowed large primes to search for companies to work on their projects.
I now undertake freelance web development and my most recent project has been to develop a fully AJAX driven photo management system for an up and coming photograper. My main interest and expertise lies in back-end web development and AJAX driven user interfaces. and my main technical skills include ASP, SQL Server, Ajax, CSS.
I have a strong academic background in the subject as well as years of on the job experience and I have a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and an MSc in Information Systems (Commendation) from Kingston University.
